Softball PEI Minor League Rules - As of January 2022
All Minor Leagues and teams will follow Softball Canada current and updated rules. Listed below are some of the new or specific to Softball PEI rules for different age groups.
- All Minor Softball players must wear a cage on their batting helmets.
- All league games and Provincial Championship games will have unlimited defensive substitutions and MUST bat all players on their roster.
- All Minor players may only play in one Provincial per season.
- Eastern Canadian Qualifying tournaments will follow Softball Canada/Eastern Canadian rules with regards to defense and batting substitutions.
- All Games will have a 2 hour time limit with no new inning starting after the 1 hour and 45 minute mark.
- If the 2 hour time limit is announced by the umpire, then the last inning being played will become an open inning in all levels.
